The rising stars of comedy writing are showcasing never-before-seen work in the inaugural Sky Comedy Rep Festival. Discover the funniest young writers from across the country as they present a series of hilarious one-act plays. With mentors like Guz Khan, Meera Syal and Danny Brocklehurst, these writers promise to be ones to watch. Performances on Sat 5 Mar will be hosted by the award-winning comedian, Birmingham’s own, Darren Harriott, and performances on Thu 03 and Fri 04 will be hosted by BBC New Comedy Award finalist, Celya AB.

This festival is the culmination of our new comedy writing talent development scheme with Sky Studios. Headed by Rep Artistic director, Sean Foley, and SKY Creative Director of Comedy, Anil Gupta, this new yearly bursary and mentorship scheme gives early-career comedy writers the opportunity to have their ideas and scripts developed in collaboration with the finest talents in the industry.

Birmingham’s own Dame Julie Walters is the Patron of Sky Comedy Rep.
